NYC Attractions for Those Who Love the Great Outdoors

New York City may be the last place you have in mind when thinking of outdoor activities. But you might be pleasantly surprised with what the city has to offer. With your NYC pass, you can access a variety of places and NYC attractions that will make you feel like you are in the middle of nature. If you love the great outdoors, you will have to take advantage of two things offered by your NYC pass. These include the hop on hop off NYC uptown tour and the free two-hour bike rental included in your pass.

Central Park

If you take the hop on hop off NYC uptown route and head to one of the world’s largest urban parks, you will quickly feel like you never left the outdoors. This gigantic park in the heart of Manhattan has a variety of attractions. You will want to take advantage of the Central Park Zoo, the Lake, and the Conservatory Garden.

Central Park Zoo

The Central Park Zoo is one of Central Park’s most popular NYC attractions. It hosts a variety of animals from all over the world. These include sea lions and penguins. You will find animals from the polar climate, the tropical climate, and the temperate climate. If you come at the right time, you will be able to witness the zoo personnel feeding the animals. The zoo is open every day from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Lake

If you love the great outdoors, you will want to go to the lake. It is in the center of the park. You will find a kiosk that rents out rowboats and paddleboats. You can even get on a Venetian gondola ride. What better way to forget about the craziness of New York City traffic than to spend an hour paddling on a calm lake surrounded by greenery? If you are hungry after all that paddling, stop at the Boathouse restaurant for some great seafood.

Conservatory Garden

This attraction is a six-acre garden filled with flowers and other plants that will make you feel like you never left the great outdoors. You can also go to the Boat Pond, where both adults as children get to play with miniature remote-controlled sailboats.

Brooklyn Botanic Garden

After visiting Central Park, take advantage of your NYC pass to rent a bike for two hours for free. Head to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, a beautiful 52-acre garden with a variety of plants and trees, a Japanese hill and pond garden, a rose garden, and much more.
