There are those that like to go to sleep at a decent hour and wake up just as the sun rises to start to their day. On the other hand, you have the night owls among us. Those that like to stay out past midnight often get the short end of the stick, because there’s just nothing to do in many places. We all know someone with a strange sleep schedule, and what better place for those particular few than the city that never sleeps?

The closing stand up comedy acts typically begin just after midnight, so if you love late nights and love comedy even more, this is a great way to pass some time. There are numerous venues at which you’ll find great shows, so just do a quick google search and find out what’s happening near you. Chances are you’ll find something worth attending.

Go To A Bar… Or Several

There are hundreds of bars in New York City, and if you’re there on vacation, you only have so much time. Some bars in New York City like to close at 2 A.M., but many stay open until 4 A.M. If you’re looking for things to do in NYC, you can’t go wrong with bar-hopping. Just remember to stay safe.

Fat cat Jazz club is a great place to go if you’re planning on having a long night. They don’t close until 5 A.M., they have inexpensive refreshments, and they have live music ever night. As if that weren’t enough, they also have all the games you could want. If you want to relax you can lay back on one of their comfortable sofas, and if you’re feeling social you can play pool, ping pong, or even scrabble.

Empire State Building

One of the things you have to do in NYC is go to the top of the Empire State Building. It’s a staple of a New York Tourism. However, you’d be missing a great opportunity if you didn’t go to the top of the Empire State Building at night. The last elevator goes up at 1:15 P.M. and the Empire State Building closes at 2 A.M. All of the lights in the city from this high up is truly a sight to be beheld, and you’ll be glad you took the time to do it.

You simply must take the opportunity to observe the beautiful New York City Skyline. It operates 24/7, and it’s totally free of charge. It’s a great experience that everyone visiting New York City should have. These are just a few things to do in New York City after the sun has gone down. There are tons of other great activities such as shopping, spas, and endless entertainment. There’s more than enough to do after midnight in the city that never sleeps, so don’t spend your late night cooped up in a hotel room. Get out there and experience the other half of the greatest city on earth.
